Private Boxing Lessons

A private lesson is one person's boxing, watched closely. It is not a posted menu of packages, and it is not booked by the form on this site.

What the hour is trying to do

People look for a personal boxing trainer when the group explanation does not land. Maybe the jab loops around the guard. Maybe the rear heel never turns. Maybe you have boxed for a while and a single habit is expensive. A private boxing lesson exists to pick a small number of those problems and work them until the change is visible.

The session should start with an assessment, not a random circuit. A coach watches you stand, step, and throw a few unhurried punches. They ask what you want from the training and what you have been told not to do by a clinician. Then they choose a focus. A first private hour might be entirely stance and jab. That can feel slow if you expected to be exhausted. Exhaustion is easy to arrange. A cleaner punch is the point of paying for one person's attention.

Examples of a focus

A beginner might spend the lesson on the guard returning after every shot, with the bag used only as a target that does not require power. Someone who already trains might spend it on a pivot that keeps them off the center line, or on a cross that does not drag the front foot. A person who wants fitness can still train privately, but the boxing idea should stay in the session so it does not collapse into generic intervals. For a class built around conditioning, see boxing fitness classes.

Mitt work and bag work both belong in private lessons when the wrists are ready. The coach can stop a rep that is unsafe. That is harder to do for twenty people at once, which is why some technical problems are a private-lesson problem. The fundamentals page lists the skills those corrections usually touch. The heavy bag page covers the hand-protection rules that still apply when nobody else is in the room.

Who benefits, and who might not

You may want a private lesson if you learn by being corrected in the moment, if your schedule does not match a group, or if you are new and would rather not learn the stance in front of a crowd. Parents sometimes ask about youth lessons. This site describes adult training. Do not assume a junior session exists.

You might not need a private lesson if you want the energy of a room and your skills are ready for a shared drill. Adult group classes are the better fit, and they cost attention differently. Beginners who mainly need the map of the sport can start with beginner classes and add a private hour later for the one habit that stuck.

Names and roles are on the coaches page. That page does not add biographies or certificates. The behavior to expect is still short cues, a reason for the drill, and no pressure to spar. The person in the photograph is not on staff. The photo shows what watched bag work looks like in general.

Bring the question you want answered. Gear requirements should be confirmed before a lesson.

Availability, price, and the inquiry

This page cannot tell you that a trainer is free on Thursday or what the hour costs. Both facts have to come from a person who can actually teach, after you ask. The contact form is how you ask. Write the goal in plain language: first lesson, fix the cross, prepare for a gym you already attend, or get feedback because the bag is teaching you bad habits. Mention injuries that change the plan.

A stored inquiry is not a hold on anyone's calendar. How inquiries work explains the steps, including the fact that a reply depends on an operator being able to follow up. Compare formats first on the classes hub if you are still deciding between a private hour and a group.

When a lesson does happen, judge it by whether you can repeat the correction without the coach standing on your lead toe. One clear change beats a blur of combinations you will not remember in the car.

Questions about private lessons

Is a private lesson the same as a personal trainer session?

A private boxing lesson is one-to-one coaching aimed at boxing skill. A general personal trainer may coach strength or conditioning without teaching a jab. Ask which of those you want. This site describes boxing lessons, not a generic gym package.

Can you tell me the price?

No price is published. An inquiry can ask what a private session costs. Until an operator answers with a real figure, there is no rate to quote and nothing to buy on this website.

Who is a private lesson for?

People who want corrections aimed at their own stance, beginners who prefer a quiet first hour, and boxers who already train and want one problem solved. It is not automatically better than a group. It is more specific.

Does sending the form book the coach?

No. The form stores a question. A time is confirmed only in a separate conversation, and only if someone is actually available to teach.
